Colour-it, Dark Oak Wood Stain

Sometimes a bit of richness added to wood makes a pleasant difference to its appearance. Perhaps you just need to match timbers, or make a slight change in shade.

Cooper’s Colour-it Dark Oak wood stain is a spirit based that is fade resisting and non grain raising (NGR). For very dramatic colour changes you can apply it direct to the unfinished wood grain. However if you want to create a natural looking colour change then experimenting with bends of Semi Sealer can achieve some excellent results. For precise matches you may need to blend two or three colours together to get the perfect effect.

Different timber varieties take up colour in different ways so it is always necessary to try test pieces on representative scrap timber. This is the general nature of working with spirit based stains and experimentation pays dividends as it is almost impossible to strip these stains completely once applied.

Both Colour-it and Semi Sealer are compatible with Cooper’s Moisturiser. Oil and water based stains are not as they seal the surface and prevent the Moisturiser from absorbing.
