The 3M 6000 Series Respirators are a better choice when stripping bigger projects. Their versatility allows you to fit either solvent canisters for chemical stripping, or lead particulate filters when heat gunning or sanding. You can fit both at the same time if you install a pair of the adapter plates.
Most people will find greater comfort and cooler breathing with this mask instead of the disposable variety. However if you are not used to wearing masks at all, or you don’t like equipment strapped to your face then you might try the disposable variety first.
We have found that for all day projects these work out much more comfortable and cost effective.
The face pieces come in 3 sizes. Most people fit this average size.
