Replacement solvent canisters for your 3M mask

A pair of these solvent canisters fit directly onto the 3M face piece. They offer protection from paint stripping solvents and spirit based wood stains. They are not intended for dust protection or for sanding or heat gunning lead based paint. Use the Lead Particulate filters (see below) in those instances.

As with all solvent respirators, they are considered a disposable item and a new pair should be fitted to the face piece from time to time. If you can smell solvent through the mask, then replace the canisters with a new pair immediately.

Their life expectancy varies on a number of factors.

• The amount of solvent concentration in the air (keep the room ventilated).
• The size of the person and the amount of air they breathe.
• The temperature and humidity.
• How the mask is stored. When not in use, store the mask away from solvent vapours. Don’t leave it beside stripped paint.

In our experience a pair of canisters lasts between one day and one week of daily use, but this should be treated as a loose guide. Please refer to 3M’s documentation for proper advice.
