This is a grand 1900s villa lounge built with Kauri timber joinery. The fireplace, wall dado, picture rail, double hung windows and floors have all been beautifully restored back to their former glory. The detail in the fireplace has come up beautifully.
All the surfaces were originally coated in dark Shellac varnish which grew shabby with age. This room was restored using the Coopers Restoration System along with Coopers Moisturiser.
The floors were stripped and not sanded to keep the rustic appeal. They were then Moisturised instead of been polyurethaned. Moisturised floors are natural looking are easy to maintain and with simple care will never likely need stripping again.
The furniture has not been restored.
