The 4 panel villa styled doors in this photo are made of New Zealand Kauri. You can see the colour of the original coating on the right-hand door in the top centre where the room number has been preserved. All the joinery timberwork in this photo was this dark colour including the floor. The owner has beautifully restored everything using the Coopers Restoration System.
None of these surfaces needed sanding. The Coopers Restoration System removed the old shellac varnish without damage. The wood grain stripped silky smooth and the old shellac left a lovely rich patina in the grain resulting in these rich colours when moisturised with the Coopers Moisturiser.
A good test of door restoration is how clean the detail becomes. We recommend the Coopers Restoration System as you can see the results are stunning. We don't recommend that you dip your doors in acid baths as damage often occurs such as furred timber, broken glue joints, warped mouldings, discolouration, or split panels.
